Regaton was born in Seville, Spain at the Yeguada Olivera, the breeding farm of Francisco Olivera Bermudez in 1986. While in Spain, he was distinguished in the Conformation (Morphology) and Performance Classes at SICAB, the 1993 National Championship Show held in Seville. Regaton was second in Conformation, finishing only 1 point behind first place. He was second in the movement category, placing only 7/10 of a point behind the winner. Regaton was imported to the USA by MaryBeth Horan, who diligently continued his training. She presented him in exhibitions around the USA, and promoted him as an outstanding breeding stallion. In 2005, MaryBeth retired from breeding and Regaton & the El Encanto Andaluz Farm was acquired by Rebecca Williams of Birmingham, Alabama. Regaton is now in his 20s and is available for breeding, otherwise he enjoys retirement in the lush pastures of Alabama, where he is lord of all he surveys. He is lavished with affection from his many fans. Regaton has time honored bloodlines featuring some wonderful producing stallions of the past amazingly close up in his pedigree. For instance, his paternal grandsire is Juglar, born in 1946, 61 years ago. Juglar carried the Yeguada Militar brand yet was 100% Bocado (Destinado III x Furiosa III). Hosco II, his maternal grandsire, was an outstanding Terry bred stallion born 1961. It's not every day you'll find a GRANDSON of both these exquisite producers. Regaton also carries the legacy of Nevado III, Bilbaino III, (the 100% Bocado foundation sire of the famous Miguel Angel Cardenas stud); the Champion of Spain stallion, Maluso, (Yeguada Militar) as well as the lineages of Osbourne and Romero Benitez, two of Spain's highly respected breeders. He exemplifies the desired characteristics of the Purebred Spanish Horse, the characteristics that have made this breed, the Horse of Kings. CONTACT REBECCA WILLIAMS, Owner 205.987.2251 |
